The Czech brand, which is well known in most of Europe, might be coming to the USA after parent company Volkswagen AG has decided to have Skoda file for trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark office. This decision is not too surprising however.
After Volkswagen was hit with the Dieselgate scandal, their profits have been down a staggering 86%. Volkswagen is overall still profitable due to its many other owned brands such as Audi, Porsche, and various others.
We believe that Skoda could become a hit in the US, and attract customers that are looking for cars that are more affordable than other domestic car companies models. We are excited to see another car brand that used to only be available in European countries migrate to the US. Only time will tell if this was Volkswagen’s right move.
