F3 Auto Detailing: Simple Steps for a Gleaming Car

Everyone wants a car that looks great from the inside and out whether you are a car enthusiast or not. Unfortunately, not everyone follows the correct steps to have their beautiful cars look like new, or even better than new. Too many people unfortunately believe that simply bringing their car to a random car wash does the trick. This is purely not the most adequate way to maintain a car’s cleanliness for many years to come. Here at Carsclusive, we believe it is very important for car owners to know the right steps to take in order to have a well maintained clean car.

Since many of you sent in questions in regards to maintaining your car, we decided to take you to a professional and provide you with a first hand glimpse at how detailing a Car is really done. Our mission was to provide a quick tutorial to the everyday car enthusiast on how to maintain and wash their cars properly with everyday tools and off-the-shelf products. We would like to thank our friends at F3 Auto Detailing providing us with a quick simple Detail 101 that anyone of us can do at home with minimal equipment.

Check out this video for an inside look of what a typical day at F3 Auto Detailing looks like!

Lots of people tend to think washing the car in the sun will yield better results since hot sun equals drying fast. This is a misconception. It is important to wash the car during cooler temperatures away from the sun. This is necessary in order to reduce and possibly even prevent water spots!

Using quality products to detail a car is key. If the wrong or cheap products are used, the car could easily get damaged and worsen the swirl marks. Our friends at F3 Auto Detailers endorse Chemical Guys, Sonax and Wolfgang Car Care Products!

Many aftermarket wheels have incredibly complicated designs. Take a look at this beautiful set of BBS’s on this BMW. It is important to clean the wheels before any other part of the car, since they can take a while to clean, and water spots could emerge on the car if the body gets cleaned first!

In order to have your wheels as shiny and gleaming as possible, F3 Auto Detailers recommend spraying Sonax on them then gently use a soft bristled brush to significantly speed up removing brake dust. To preserve the cleanliness of the wheels,  spray sealant such as VO7 to keep your wheels clean for a longer period of time!

Make sure to clean out the wash mitt in a dirty bucket, and then dunk it in a fresh bucket with soap. #thetwobucketmethod This ensures that the wash mitt does not become contaminated, and the car gets cleaned with only fresh water. Pick up a grit guard too while you are at it to prevent dirty particles to be picked up back again by your wash mitt to prevent swirl marks and hairline scratches!

Use a Pressure Washer with appropriate accessories to make sure the strong water gets rid of all the dirt on the car. #STIPower

Once the car is all foamed up and soapy, make sure to use the pressure washer to wash off all the soap. It is recommended to walk around the car multiple times and spray water from top to bottom to ensure that all the soap gets washed off. #toptobottom Finally, when drying, wipe down in one direction and don’t put a lot of weight on the microfiber towel to avoid scratches!

Here it is, Car Washing 101 provided by our good friends at F3 Auto Detailers! You don’t always need expensive equipments to get good results. With tools you can simply pick up from your local stores, you can properly wash your car and have it looking great again!

BMW’s Most Exclusive M5

After customers were disappointed to find all 700 units of the $130,000 BMW M4 GTS were sold out, BMW put its M Division engineers back to work, this time to create a “high performance business sedan” and named it the Pure Metal Silver Limited Edition, based on the M5 sedan. Under the hood is a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that’s a 40 horsepower and 16 lb-ft of torque increase over its standard M5 sibling, yielding 600 total horsepower and 516 lb-ft of total torque.

BMW's Limited Edition M5 Pic 2.jpg

Its 0-60mph is expected to be 0.1 seconds quicker than the standard M5, at 3.9 seconds and its top speed receives a 35 mph increase, ramping it up to 190mph due to the M Driver’s Package that comes standard on this special edition. There will also be an enhanced version of the M Competition package included for those more interested in track-driving.

Some of its external upgrades include 20” forged wheels and an updated active M differential to ensure superior traction given the power upgrade. The car is also lowered by 0.4 inches and will have stiffer dampers. Its carbon ceramic brakes will come standard in case the extra power proves to be too much. The standard Driver’s Package will also include a one-day pass to BMW’s high performance driving schools in either South Carolina or California, for those not accustomed to driving powerful cars.

But BMW’s M Division didn’t just focus on the mechanics – the visuals have also gotten upgrades. An M Performance exhaust with carbon bezel has been added to the M Performance kidney grilles to accent the special paint job. BMW has claimed that the Pure Metal Silver paint is the most exclusive of BMW’s individual line.

The interior has also been revamped, with aluminum trim tying together the interior and exterior. The seats are made with Merino leather stitched with threads of a contrasting color, and a badge can be found inside reading “Pure Metal Silver Limited Edition 1/50” to remind the driver of the exclusivity of the vehicle being driven. The release date has been scheduled for August 2016 with a total price tag of $131,850.

Mercedes CLS Concludes With A Special Edition

The Mercedes-Benz CLS has been on sale since 2011, and even though it is a visual appealing car to this day, the time has come for a new model to replace it. Before this happens, Mercedes is releasing a “Final Edition” version of the CLS.

This Final Edition model has not been confirmed for North America yet. Even if it does not get released in the US, it is worth noting that Mercedes made it clear that all the option in this model can be ordered regularly for any normal CLS that is currently offered, except the AMG variant.

We find this package pricing to be a bit steep, and would not opt for it. However, it is great to see that there will finally be a new successor to the stunning CLS, and we are surely excited to see what would be in the store for the new CLS.

Hyundai Enters The Performance Market

Just recently, Hyundai released their new Elantra Sport. Hyundai is entering the small sporty sedan segment, slowly but surely. In this market, there are not many models that compete against each other. The only car we can think of that will compete with the Elantra is the VW GLI.

The Elantra Sport will come with a 1.6-liter four cylinder turbo-charged engine, which produces a solid 200 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. The transmission comes in two options. Either a DCT transmission or a Manual transmission. The engine is the same one found in the Hyundai Veloster, another budget sport hot hatch.

When comparing the GLI to the Veloster, we have to admit that the GLI offers a much better driving experience. However, with this new Elantra Sport, only time will tell. We are excited to see it arrive in show rooms and see Hyundai continue to surprise us with their steady improvements they have made all throughout.

The Revival of Volkswagen’s V8 Engines?

Volkswagen’s V8 engines didn’t look like they were going to last, as Audi’s latest diesel V8 engine in the SQ7 was rumored to be the brand’s last. It seems like Audi could be moving towards turbochargers and hybrids, but new reports show that the V8 might not be dead yet. Porsche has recently launched a new aluminum 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 for its new Panamera Turbo. This engine delivers 542 horsepower and even at half engine speed, delivers 335 horsepower. It definitely has the potential to see a lot more usage.

Porsche CEO Oliver Blume said that “Porsche’s new engine plant will also contribute towards synergies within the Volkswagen Group.” Porsche has recently spent $88.6 million on the plant to build 200 units of the new V8 daily. It seems that Porsche’s F8 will also see action in the Audi A8 and Bentley Mulsanne. The Panamera Turbo has a 0-60mph of 3.8 seconds with the engine and a Turbo S model could pack as much as 600 horsepower. Even with this immense speed though, this engine is 30% more efficient than its predecessor. It’ll be interesting to see how the V8 performs from here on out.

Nero DS Opaco LaFerrari

There are only three Ferraris that come in this matte black color. The official name for this color is Nero DS Opaco. Even the steering wheel of this car is special. It has “CAVALLO INFERNALE” engraved in it which stands for “horse from hell”.

This car for sale has a very low 211 miles on the odometer. Since this car is practically not driven, paired with how rare it is, we are expecting this car to sell for millions of dollars. If you search the internet, you will find that a total of 12 LaFerraris are for sale, with 10 of them being red, and the other 2 being white.

The cheapest being sold is going for $2.8 million, and the most expensive is going for $4.9 million. What a bargain! The rare color of this specific car will certainly drive the price up, and people bidding on top of it will push the price up even further. We are expecting this auction to be wild.

VW’s Diesel Fix Pollutes The Air even more

After the whole dieselgate scandal, Volkswagen promised to fix their diesel engines, and remove the software that would let its cars cheat on emission tests. The problem with the new fix is that their new cars actually pollute more than when the diesel models were cheating.

Volkswagen updated their 1.2-liter and 2.0-liter diesel engines to a new standard. The only engine line that needed more than a simple software upgrade are the 1.6-liter engines. This engine type also required a new flow transformer, which would help with improving the mass airflow sensor readings.

Recently, an Audi Q5 which had its cheat devices removes was tested. It turns out that this particular car released 25% more NOx gases than a cheating one. The European Consumer Organization is not happy about this finding, and wants VW to compensate European buyers, just like it did with US buyers. Volkswagen earlier claimed that fixing cars in Europe would be much easier than in the US, which is why the US got compensation and Europe did not.

The European Consumer Organization wants European governments to put pressure on Volkswagen, which should encourage them to take ethics and the fix more seriously hopefully in a timely manner.

Get Ready For The 2017 Ford F-150

Ford finally decided to reveal the power output on its all-new 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that’s going to be in the 2017 F-150. This new engine will replace the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine it debuted in 2009, and while the horsepower bump is slight (only a 10hp boost from 365hp to 375hp), the real gain will be in torque. The F-150’s new twin-turbocharged V6 engine will produce an impressive 470 lb-ft of torque, meaning a 50lb-ft improvement from the current 3.5-liter V6 engine in F-150s today. This massive increase in torque means the F-150 will beat any gasoline or diesel powered ½-ton pickup truck on the market.

2017 Ford F150 Engine Pic 2.jpg

The F-150’s V6 engine will be mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission co-developed with General Motors. While Ford hasn’t released specific details on tow ratings or fuel economy, both metrics are expected to improve considerably. A high-output version of this engine producing around 450 horsepower will power the upcoming F-150 Raptor.

2017 Ford F150 Engine Pic 3.jpg

2017 Ford F150 Engine Pic 4.jpg

The F-150’s closest competitor in terms of performance will probably be the Chevrolet Silverado fitted with its 6.2-liter V8, with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. While its torque is slightly less than the V6 EcoBoost, its 420 horsepower does have a sizable leg up on the 375 horsepower of the F-150. It’s going to be interesting to see just how well the F-150 does against its competitors when it goes on sale this fall. The pricing for this classic will be announced closer to its release.
